Maurice Roëves was a British actor who starred in the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans as well as in the 2009 film The Damned United. His extensive television career included notable roles in Danger UXB (1979), The Nightmare Man (1981), and the Doctor Who serial The Caves of Androzani (1984). Roëves also portrayed Chief Superintendent David Duckenfield in the 1996 television film Hillsborough, which depicted a tragic event in football history. His filmography features roles in Oh! What a Lovely War, Ulysses, and Judge Dredd (1995). He played Sir Matt Busby in the BBC docudrama Surviving Disasters.
