Matthias Schweighöfer is a German actor and filmmaker who directed and starred as Ludwig Dieter in Army of Thieves (2021). He gained recognition for his role as Lieutenant Franz Herber in Valkyrie (2008). Schweighöfer also appeared in the Netflix film Army of the Dead (2021). In 2023, he portrayed German physicist Werner Heisenberg in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. He is involved in voice work in Elio (2025) and Brick (2025).
