David Matthew Macfadyen is an English actor who portrayed Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice (2005). He played Tom Wambsgans in the HBO series Succession (2018–2023), earning multiple awards including two Primetime Emmys and two BAFTAs. His film credits include Death at a Funeral (2007), Frost/Nixon (2008), and Operation Mincemeat (2021). Macfadyen made his television debut in Wuthering Heights (1998) and appeared in series such as Spooks (2002–2004, 2011) and Ripper Street (2012–2016). He portrayed Charles Ingram in the limited series Quiz (2020).
