Matt Ross is an American actor and filmmaker who wrote and directed the comedy-drama film Captain Fantastic (2016). He gained recognition for his portrayal of Alby Grant in the television series Big Love (2006–11) and as Gavin Belson in Silicon Valley (2014–19). His film credits include The Last Days of Disco (1998), American Psycho (2000), and The Aviator (2004). In addition to his acting career, he has appeared in Last Holiday (2006) and Just Visiting (2001).
