Matt Dillon is an American actor who made his feature film debut in Over the Edge (1979). He gained prominence as a teenage idol in the 1980s with performances in My Bodyguard (1980), Little Darlings (1980), and The Outsiders (1983). Dillon has taken on a range of roles in various genres, appearing in notable films such as Drugstore Cowboy (1989), There's Something About Mary (1998), and Crash (2004), the latter earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also directed City of Ghosts (2002) and starred in the series Wayward Pines (2015). Dillon played a significant role in Wild Things (1998).
