Masato Sakai is a Japanese actor who won the best actor award at the 31st Yokohama Film Festival for his performances in The Wonderful World of Captain Kuhio and The Chef of South Polar. He also received the best supporting actor award at the 2008 Nikkan Sports Film Award, the 33rd Hochi Film Award, and the 51st Blue Ribbon Awards, as well as a nomination for best supporting actor at the 32nd Japan Academy Prize. His film credits include Buddha: The Great Departure (2011). Sakai is married to actress and J-pop singer Miho Kanno.
