Marlee Matlin is the youngest woman and the only deaf actress to win the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Children of a Lesser God. Her notable film credits include CODA (2021) and Excision (2012). In addition to her Oscar, Matlin has earned a Golden Globe award and received two more nominations, along with four Emmy nominations throughout her career. She has been deaf since the age of two and is an active member of the National Association of the Deaf.
