Mark Rylance is an English actor who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies (2015). He served as the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe in London from 1995 to 2005. Rylance's film career includes notable performances in The BFG (2016), where he played the title character, and in Dunkirk (2017), directed by Christopher Nolan. He also appeared in Spielberg's Ready Player One (2018) as James Halliday, and was featured in Don't Look Up (2021) and The Other Boleyn Girl (2008). Rylance received a BAFTA Award for his acting prowess.
