Mark Harmon is an American actor who played Leroy Jethro Gibbs in NCIS (2003-2021). He began his acting career in the mid-1970s following his time as a collegiate football player. Harmon received an Emmy Award nomination for his role as Simon Donovan in The West Wing (2002). He has also produced NCIS and its spinoff NCIS: New Orleans since 2008. In addition to his television work, he appeared in Freakier Friday (2025). Harmon has been married to actress Pam Dawber since 1987 and has two sons, one of whom, Sean Harmon, portrayed a young version of his NCIS character.
