Mark Gatiss is an English actor, comedian, screenwriter, director, producer, and novelist who co-created the BBC comedy series The League of Gentlemen (1999–2002). He portrayed Mycroft Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock (2010–2017) and has appeared in films such as Victor Frankenstein (2015), Christopher Robin (2018), and The Father (2020). Gatiss has also played notable roles in television series including Tycho Nestoris in Game of Thrones (2014–2017) and Stephen Gardiner in Wolf Hall (2015). His stage work includes a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for his performance in Coriolanus (2013) and winning the award for Best Actor in The Motive and the Cue (2023).
