Marie-Josée Croze is a Canadian actress who won the Best Actress award at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival for her role in The Barbarian Invasions. She holds dual Canadian and French nationality, having acquired the latter in December 2012. Croze gained recognition for her performance in Denis Villeneuve's Maelström (2000), for which she received the Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. She appeared in Steven Spielberg's Munich (2005) and played a speech therapist in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007), directed by Julian Schnabel. In 2012, she served on the jury for the main competition at the International Film Festival of Marrakech.
