Marie-Françoise Theodore is an interdisciplinary artist of Haitian descent who wrote and directed the experimental short film rebel in the soul. She has worked in film, television, and theatre as a writer, actor, and filmmaker. Her notable works include the independent feature films Strange As Angels (2003), Love Jones (1997), and Small Metal Jacket (1999). Marie-Françoise received a Women In Film/General Motors Acceleration Grant in 2006 and has been a finalist for various prestigious screenplay programs. She starred in the film Lockdown: 2025 (2021). Marie-Françoise holds an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College, Chicago IL.
