Maribel Verdú is a Spanish actress who made her film debut in Captain Sánchez's Crime (1985). Over her nearly four-decade career, she has received multiple accolades, including two Goya Awards for Best Actress and the Gold Medal of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain in 2008. Verdú's notable film appearances include Lovers (1991), Belle Époque (1992), Y tu mamá también (2001), Pan's Labyrinth (2006), and The Blind Sunflowers (2008).
