Margarita Terekhova is a Soviet and Russian actress who made her film debut in Hello, That's Me! (1965). She gained prominence in the late 1970s with notable performances in The Dog in the Manger and D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers, where she portrayed Countess Diana de Belflor and Milady, respectively. Terekhova's significant works include leading roles in Andrei Tarkovsky's Mirror (1975) and Monologue (1972), as well as international films like The Blue Bird (1976) and Mama, I'm Alive (1977). In 2005, she transitioned to directing with The Seagull, based on Anton Chekhov's play. Terekhova was honored with the title People's Artist of Russia in 1996.
