Marcel Ruiz is a Puerto Rican actor who debuted in the film Breakthrough (2019) as the lead. He gained prominence with his role in the Netflix sitcom One Day at a Time (2017), which earned him an Imagen Award for Best Young Actor and a nomination for a Teen Choice Award. In addition to acting, Ruiz has co-written and produced the feature Summer of Three. He is also part of the ensemble cast in the Netflix coming-of-age drama series The Body.
