Marc Lawrence was an American character actor who portrayed underworld figures. He began his film career in 1931 after signing with Columbia Pictures and had a distinctive pock-marked face and New York street-guy accent. Over the years, Lawrence played numerous gangsters and mob bosses, including roles in two James Bond films: Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). He also appeared in Marathon Man (1976) alongside Laurence Olivier and in the comedy Hot Stuff (1979). His career was interrupted by a blacklist due to his political affiliations, but he returned to the film industry after its end. Lawrence is featured in Super Fuzz (1980).
