Malaya Stern Takeda is an American-Japanese actress who gained recognition for her role as Livia in the student short film Spit (2022). Raised in Berlin after moving from Tokyo, she attended the Michael Tschechow Studio Berlin and later the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she honed her craft from 2017 to 2021. Takeda's stage work includes notable performances in Penthesilea (2018), The Caucasian Chalk Circle (2019–2020), and The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant (2020). She also starred in the TV series Love Addicts (2022) and has a role in The Assessment (2025). Takeda's performance in Spit earned her a nomination for the Max Ophüls Prize for "Best Young Actress."
