Mahesh Bhatt is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who directed the film Saaransh (1984), which was India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Notable works include Aashiqui (1990), Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991), and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993). His later films include No One Killed Jessica (2011) and Aashiqui 2 (2013). He directed the film Sadak 2 (2020).
