Mads Mikkelsen is a Danish actor who gained international fame for his portrayal of Le Chiffre in Casino Royale (2006). He began his career with notable roles in the Pusher film trilogy (1996, 2004) and the series Rejseholdet (2000–2004). His filmography includes significant performances in The Hunt (2012), for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and Another Round (2020), earning a BAFTA nomination. Mikkelsen also appeared as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange (2016) and Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022). He plays Captain Ludwig Kahlen in The Promised Land (2023).
