Madeline Kahn was an American actress, comedian, and singer who made her Broadway debut in Leonard Sillman's New Faces of 1968. She gained recognition for her comedic performances in films directed by Mel Brooks, including Young Frankenstein (1974) and Blazing Saddles (1974), for which she received Academy Award nominations. Kahn also appeared in The Cheap Detective (1978), City Heat (1984), and Clue (1985). She earned multiple Tony Award nominations throughout her career, winning the award for Best Actress in a Play for The Sisters Rosensweig in 1993. Kahn won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1987 for an ABC Afterschool Special.
