Madan Mitra

Madan Mitra is an Indian actor and politician who began his career with the Indian National Congress. He transitioned to the Trinamool Congress in 1998, a party established by Mamata Banerjee, and was elected to the legislative assembly in 2011, serving as a state minister. In addition to his political career, he has ventured into acting, appearing in the film Sentimentaaal (2024). Mitra was also involved in a legal controversy related to the Sarada chit fund conspiracy, for which he was imprisoned for 22 months before obtaining bail.
