M. Night Shyamalan is an American filmmaker who made his directorial debut with Praying with Anger in 1992. He gained significant recognition for his work on The Sixth Sense (1999), a supernatural thriller that became a cultural phenomenon, and continued to explore supernatural themes in films like Unbreakable (2000) and Signs (2002). Shyamalan's career faced ups and downs, with notable films such as The Visit (2015) and Glass (2019), the latter being the conclusion of his Unbreakable trilogy. He was a producer for the horror film Devil (2010). In 2008, he received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government.
