M. N. Nambiar was a prominent Tamil cinema actor who portrayed villains over a career that lasted nearly fifty years. He initially began as a hero but quickly became synonymous with villainy in Kollywood, appearing in films such as Manthiri Kumari (1950), Velaikaari (1950), and Ayirathil Oruvan (1963). Nambiar's performance in Digambara Samiyar (1950), where he played eleven roles, solidified his status in the industry. He acted in over 1000 films across various languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi, with a notable appearance in the English film Jungle (1952). Nambiar was also a spiritual leader, devoted to Sabarimala, and he founded the Nambiar Nataka Mandram drama troupe. His last film was Baba (2002).
