Lynne Thigpen was an American actress who won a Tony Award in 1997 for her role as Dr. Judith Kaufman in An American Daughter. She gained prominence for her performances as The Chief of ACME Crimenet on the game show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and as Ella Farmer on The District from 2000 to 2003. In addition to her stage work, Thigpen appeared in films such as Godspell (1973) and Anger Management (2003). Her television career earned her six nominations for Daytime Emmy Awards.
