Lynn Whitfield is an American actress who won a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance in The Josephine Baker Story (1991). She began her career in television and theatre, later taking on supporting roles in film. Throughout the 1990s, Whitfield starred in several notable films, including A Thin Line Between Love and Hate (1996) and Eve's Bayou (1997). Her work on the Oprah Winfrey Network series Greenleaf (2016-2020) earned her critical acclaim and multiple awards, including two NAACP Image Awards. Other significant titles in her filmography include Stepmom (1998), Madea's Family Reunion (2006), and Vacation Friends (2021).
