Lynda Carter is an American actress and singer who gained prominence for her role as Wonder Woman in the television series The New Original Wonder Woman (1975–77). She began her career in entertainment after winning the title of Miss World USA in 1972, which led her to study acting in New York. Carter made early television appearances on shows like Starsky and Hutch before her breakthrough role. She also starred in The New Adventures of Wonder Woman (1977–79) and has appeared in various television movies and series. In addition to her acting career, she performed as a Las Vegas entertainer.
