Luna Lauren Vélez is an American actress who portrayed María LaGuerta in Showtime's series Dexter. She gained recognition for her roles as Detective Nina Moreno in New York Undercover and Dr. Gloria Nathan in the HBO series Oz. Vélez also appeared as Elena in ABC's Ugly Betty.
