Lois Smith is an American actress who made her film debut in East of Eden (1955). She has played notable supporting roles in films such as Five Easy Pieces (1970), Fatal Attraction (1987), and Fried Green Tomatoes (1991). Smith appeared in the science-fiction drama Minority Report (2002) and received critical acclaim for her performance in Lady Bird (2017). In addition to her film work, she has had a significant presence on television, including a regular role in HBO's True Blood.
