Lisa Jakub is a Canadian writer and former actress who played Lydia Hillard in the comedy-drama film Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). She began her acting career with a role in the 1985 film Eleni and gained recognition for her performance as Alicia Casse in Independence Day (1996). Jakub also appeared in Matinee (1993), Picture Perfect (1995), and Painted Angels (1997). After retiring from acting in 2001, she pursued writing, publishing her autobiography You Look Like That Girl in 2015 and Not Just Me in 2017. In addition to her writing, Jakub is a qualified Kripalu yoga teacher and has created a website focused on mental wellness and yoga resources.
