Leslie Caron is a French-American actress who made her film debut in the musical An American in Paris (1951). She gained critical acclaim for her performance as an orphan in Lili (1953), which earned her a BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actress and nominations for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Caron starred in several notable films throughout her career, including Gigi (1958), The L-Shaped Room (1962), and Chocolat (2000). Her role in The L-Shaped Room also secured her a second Academy Award nomination, along with a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. In 2007, she received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
