Leigh Whannell is an Australian filmmaker and actor who made his directorial debut with Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015). He collaborated with James Wan, having written Saw (2004) and Insidious (2010). Whannell has worked on the Saw franchise as a writer and producer, and he portrayed the character Adam Stanheight in multiple installments. His directorial works also include Upgrade (2018) and The Invisible Man (2020). In addition to his film career, he wrote the Saw video game (2009) and co-wrote the film Cooties (2014). Whannell will direct Wolf Man (2025).
