Leelee Sobieski is an American artist and retired actress who gained prominence with her role in Deep Impact (1998). She starred in several notable films during her career, including Eyes Wide Shut and Never Been Kissed, both released in 1999, as well as Here on Earth (2000) and Joy Ride (2001). Sobieski received nominations for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance as Joan of Arc in the 1999 television film. She also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the NBC miniseries Uprising (2001). After retiring from acting in 2012, she shifted her focus to her family and artistic pursuits.
