Laura Kirk is an award-winning filmmaker who co-wrote and starred in the early digital film "Lisa Picard is Famous" (2000). She has participated in various independent films, including "American Honey" (2016) and "The Sublime and Beautiful" (2014). Kirk's career began in theater, performing off-Broadway and regionally, while also teaching drama in homeless shelters and schools through the Dreamyard Drama Project. Her extensive training includes Meisner technique with Wynn Handman and Suzanne Esper, and improvisation with Alan Arkin. In addition to her acting and producing, she co-founded the mentoring group "Women of Lawrence Film" to address gender inequity in the film industry. Kirk appeared in "The Time Machine" (2002).
