Kwan Hoi-San was a Hong Kong actor who began his career as a Cantonese opera performer in street theatre. He later joined the New Voice Opera Troupe and transitioned to film, acting in numerous films, particularly adaptations of Cantonese opera. His notable works include a leading role in Project A (1983) and various supporting roles in later films after his career shifted due to the rise of Mandarin cinema. Kwan's talent was rediscovered by directors, leading to a resurgence in his film appearances. He passed away in 2006 after suffering from health issues in 2001.
