Kurt Russell is an American actor who began his career at the age of 12 in the Western TV series The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters (1963–1964). He gained prominence in the late 1960s after signing a decade-long contract with The Walt Disney Company, appearing in films like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969) and Now You See Him, Now You Don't (1972). Russell earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in Elvis (1979) and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Silkwood (1983). His collaborations with director John Carpenter include Escape from New York (1981) and The Thing (1982). He also starred in notable films such as Tombstone (1993), Vanilla Sky (2001), and F9 (2021). Russell portrayed Santa Claus in The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020).
