Kunal Nayyar is a British actor who played Raj Koothrappali in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019). He provided the voice for Vijay Patel in the Nickelodeon animated series Sanjay and Craig (2013–2016). Nayyar earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2021 British Academy Television Awards for his portrayal of Sandeep Singh in the Netflix series Criminal: UK (2020). He was recognized by Forbes as the third-highest-paid television actor in 2015 and 2018, with earnings of $20 million and $23.5 million, respectively. The asteroid 8627 Kunalnayyar is named in his honor.
