Krystyna Janda is a Polish actress who starred in the Academy Award-winning film Mephisto (1981). She gained international recognition for her performances in Andrzej Wajda's films, including Man of Marble (1976) and Man of Iron (1981). Janda's role in Ryszard Bugajski's Przesłuchanie (Interrogation), which premiered in 1989, earned her the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. She also featured in the second episode of Krzysztof Kieślowski's Dekalog series and won the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Dolce Fine Giornata. In addition to her acting career, she has received numerous accolades, including the Zbigniew Cybulski Award and the Gloria Artis Gold Medal for Merit to Culture.
