Kent Smith was a founding member of the Harvard "University Players," which included notable actors such as Henry Fonda and James Stewart. His professional acting career began in 1929 with the play Blind Window, followed by his Broadway debut in 1932 in Men Must Fight. Smith transitioned to film with The Garden Murder Case and appeared in various notable movies, including Cat People (1942), The Spiral Staircase (1946), and The Fountainhead (1949). He also had a significant television presence, featuring in series like Peyton Place and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Smith's final role was in a 1977 episode of Wonder Woman.
