Kelly Macdonald is a Scottish actress who made her film debut in Trainspotting (1996). She received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in No Country for Old Men (2007). Macdonald has appeared in notable films such as Gosford Park (2001), Nanny McPhee (2005), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). In addition to her film work, she won a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in The Girl in the Cafe (2005) and was nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Margaret Thompson in Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014). She voiced the character Princess Merida in the animated film Brave (2012).
