Keiju Kobayashi was a Japanese actor who made his film debut in 1942. His extensive career included over 250 films, with notable appearances in the 'Company President' (Shachō) comedy series produced by Toho, where he collaborated with actors like Hisaya Morishige and Daisuke Kato. Kobayashi's work spanned various genres, and he earned multiple accolades, including best actor awards at the Mainichi Film Awards for his roles in The Naked General (1958), Kuroi gashū (1960), and The Elegant Life of Mr Everyman (1963). He also worked with esteemed directors such as Akira Kurosawa and Yasujirō Ozu. Kobayashi appeared in Whisper of the Heart (1995).
