Katherine Sian Moennig is an American actress who portrayed Shane McCutcheon in The L Word. She began her career with a notable role as Jake Pratt in Young Americans. Moennig studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts after moving to New York City at 18. Her filmography includes significant performances in Three Rivers (2009), Everybody's Fine, and Art School Confidential. In addition to her roles, she has engaged with transgender narratives, auditioning for Brandon Teena in Boys Don't Cry and playing Cheryl Avery in Law and Order. Moennig appeared in Ray Donovan: The Movie (2022).
