Karl Markovics is an Austrian actor who starred as Salomon Sorowitsch in The Counterfeiters (2007), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His notable performances include roles in Komm, süßer Tod (2001), the TV movie Franz Fuchs - Ein Patriot (2007), and the police drama series Inspector Rex, which featured a spin-off titled Stockinger. Markovics has also been active in theater, performing in various productions, including the opera Der Freischütz in 2010. He appeared in A Hidden Life (2019).
