Karen Black is an American actress who made her major film debut in You're a Big Boy Now (1966). She gained prominence in the 1970s for portraying eccentric characters in both studio and independent films, becoming a notable figure in New Hollywood. Black's career spanned over five decades, featuring nearly 200 credits, including significant roles in Easy Rider (1969), Five Easy Pieces (1970), and Nashville (1975). She received two Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award nomination for her performances. Black also starred in the horror film Trilogy of Terror (1975) and had a memorable role in the cult classic House of 1000 Corpses (2003).
