Kaori Momoi is a Japanese actress who made her film debut in Ai Futatabi (To Love Again) in 1971. Over her extensive career, she has appeared in more than 60 films, collaborating with renowned directors such as Akira Kurosawa in Kagemusha (1980) and Rob Marshall in Memoirs of a Geisha. Momoi's performances have earned her multiple accolades, including two Japanese Academy Awards for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress. She also received the Best Actress award at the 1983 New York International Film Festival for her role in Giwaku (Suspicion). In addition to her acting, she is involved in producing, directing, and screenwriting, and has released around 15 record albums as a singer. She starred in Ghost in the Shell (2017).
