Kanhaiyalal Chaturvedi is an Indian actor known for his role as Sukhilala in Mehboob Khan’s Mother India (1957). He began his career in the film industry after moving to Bombay, initially aspiring to be a writer and director. His film debut occurred as an extra in Sagar Ka Sher. Kanhaiyalal's notable performances span over 100 films, including Ganga Jamuna (1961), Upkar (1967), and Dushman (1971). He was also the first Indian actor to reprise a character in a remake, having played Sukhilala in Aurat (1940) before returning to the role in Mother India. His legacy is explored in the documentary Naam Tha Kanhaiyalal (2022).
