Kamel El Basha is a Palestinian actor who won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 74th Venice International Film Festival in 2017 for his performance as Yasser Abdallah Salameh in The Insult. He began his career in the 1980s as a stage actor and has also worked as a theater director, playwright, and producer. El Basha served as the artistic director of the Palestinian National Theater in Jerusalem from 2007 to 2011 and has been the artistic director of Quds Art since 2012. His film credits include Huda's Salon (2022) and The Insult (2017).
