Kailash Kher is an Indian playback singer and music composer. He gained prominence with his unique style influenced by Indian folk traditions and Sufi music, drawing inspiration from renowned musicians like Pandit Kumar Gandharva and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Kher's notable contributions include songs in the films Fanaa (2006) and Mirchi (2013), for which he received Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. His discography also features Waisa Bhi Hota Hai: Part II (2003) and Soundtrack (2011). In recognition of his artistic achievements, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 2017 by the Indian government.
