Kad Merad is a French-Algerian filmmaker and actor who gained significant recognition for his role as Phillipe Abrams in Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (2008), which became the most-attended film in France. He began his career in cinema with minor roles before achieving his first major success in 2003 with Mais Qui a tué Pamela Rose?, co-written with Olivier Baroux. Merad received the César Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2007 for his performance in Je vais Bien, ne t'en fais pas! and has been a member of the Les Enfoirés music troupe since that year. His filmography includes Honeymoon Crasher (2025) and he has also worked extensively in television comedy. Merad's collaboration with Olivier Baroux has been a significant part of his career.
