K. Viswanath is an Indian film director who received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He predominantly worked in Telugu films. His notable works include Bagavathi (2002), Greeku Veerudu (2013), and Sollividava (2018). In addition to his directing career, he was also a screenwriter, lyricist, and actor. Viswanath earned the 'Prize of the Public' at the Besançon Film Festival in France in 1981 and was honored with the Padma Shri in 1992. He was affectionately referred to as 'Kalatapasvi.'
