Jurnee Smollett is an American actress who starred in The Great Debaters (2007). She began her career as a child actress in television sitcoms, including On Our Own and Full House. As an adult, she has appeared in notable films such as Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor (2013) and Birds of Prey (2020). Smollett's television credits include roles in Friday Night Lights, True Blood, and Lovecraft Country, for which she earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
